Dance Augusta presents Parallels, an exciting evening with six works, two premieres and twenty dancers. Hearth of Embers is a compelling and visually stunning work by Victoria Uris and Jill Bahr with a dramatic score by Michel LeGrand. Set to the music of Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings, Still Remembered is a poignant lament for a lost love choreographed by Andrew and Merry Kuharsky. *Premiere* Imagine My Surprise – Peter Powlus’ latest premiere work (choreographed for Dance Augusta and set to the music of Josef Haydn’s Surprise Symphony) is a fun, whimsical piece. We’d like to tell you more about it, but it’s a surprise! Woodwork explores the intimacy and tension of familiar and societal relationships among women of a not so distant past. Choreographer Caitlin McCormack weaves subtle imagery and dramatic storytelling into the fabric of familiar southern roots. *Premiere* – McCormack will also be premiering a new piece featuring the two men of Dance Augusta. With the working title Dark Passenger, the piece explores a man’s relationship and confrontation with his inner demon, set to a score by Ezio Bosso. Saudade Amore, choreographed by Louisville Ballet soloist Amanda Hulen, features the cirque du soleil like virtuosity of two stunning professional dancers. Ticket are $25 – $30. Call the box office for discounts for seniors, military and children.
